# Singlebase Documentation

> Singlebase is a backend platform for applications and AI agents. It provides a JSON document database, file storage, authentication and user management, AI generation and embeddings, and chat with retrieval through one JSON API.

Use these references when constructing Singlebase requests. Each call is a JSON POST to the project's API endpoint with X-API-KEY and an operation/payload envelope. Credentials belong in a server environment or secret manager.

Web keys use bearer tokens for user-scoped data, files, generation, and embeddings. Server and permitted agent keys can act without a bearer token. Agent keys cannot call auth.*, user.*, users.get or user token operations. Do not put ownership fields inside filters; use payload-level _user_id for documents or owner_id for files.

Examples contain placeholders and illustrative values. Use actual project resource names and returned IDs. Read the operation's access rules and parameters before making a call.
